What is Laparoscopic Surgery?
Laparoscopic surgery is also known as Minimal Access Surgery or Keyhole Surgery. It is used when other non-surgical treatments have been reviewed only where it is relevant. It involves making keyhole incisions to insert a telescope or other instruments to perform surgery. It is a preference over traditional gynaecological surgery with fewer complications and enhanced recovery. Note that in some cases such as the presence of significant pathology Keyhole surgery may not be appropriate. Examples of this may include large cysts with solid features or a high risk of underlying malignancy or where there is a hindrance due to pre-existing surgeries.
We operate in a non-invasive way
Where possible we will always choose a non-invasive treatment option. This would be the most natural course of action for the vast majority of common vaginal problems experienced by women from a broad range of ages.
