Leading the field in North East England for Gynaecology and the Juliet Laser

Partha Sengupta
MBBS, MRCOG, MD, MSc, BSCCP Accredited Colposcopist
Consultant & Gynaecological Cancer Trust Lead Clinician, Durham

Partha has been a consultant since 2004. Much of his training and research was in specialist centres for general gynaecology and cancer management and this is his main area of work in the NHS. He is the Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Cancers in County Durham & Darlington NHS Trust, with experience in general gynaecology, cancer investigation, diagnosis, colposcopy, and treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding, fibroids, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cysts. Between December 2020 – December 2023 Partha was an honorary Visiting Professor, Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellbeing, University of Sunderland. This was relinquished due to the increasing time pressures of NHS work.

Consequently, the care he offers is always evidence-based and holistic, with his private practice in line with his NHS scope of practice.

He is also the only clinician in the North East able to offer private access to the Juliet Laser, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, and an option for pain free and non-surgical treatment of common troublesome vulval and vaginal symptoms.
